Redmi Note 8 Pro: the first smartphone with 64 MP camera, 8GB RAM!

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro have finally arrived on the market as the great successors to the Note 7 Duo! Notably, the standard Note 8 debuts with decent 6GB RAM and triple 48MP cameras system. However, our spotlight today falls on its brother – Note 8 Pro! According to the listing, this Redmi handset is now the first-ever smartphone to equip a 64MP camera sensor! Meanwhile, the Note 8 Pro device sport a large 6.53-inch LCD with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. In details, this is a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor, which brings quad-binning pixel technology. Furthermore, it also has another triple setup of 8 MP ultra-wide + 2 MP depth + 2 MP macro combo as in the Redmi Note 8. From the image, you can see the four-camera vertical set up in the middle of the panel. On the other hand, the phone features a 20MP selfie lens upfront. Notably, this sensor comes with plenty of AI features and scene recognition options. Under the hood, the smartphone is also the first handset to run on the Mediatek’s Helio G90T, becoming the first smartphone with the new SoC platform. Furthermore, the storage options include 6/8 GB RAM and 64/128 GB ROM which is expandable up to 256GB. For the battery box, the Redmi handset has a decent 4500mAh capacity with 18W rates of quick-charging. Besides, this device is the first handset of the brand to hit the market with a liquid cooling chamber to offset the expected heating from the gaming chipset. Finally, there is also the feature to connect both to Wi-Fi and 4G.

Redmi Note 8 Pro release date and price

The handset is going to arrive in different colors: Black, Green, and White. We can expect this phone to arrive in September this year. As for the cost, the Redmi Note 8 Pro price is starting from CNY1,399 ($195/€175) for the 6/64 GB option and CNY1,799 ($250/€225) for the 8/128 GB variant.
