Today, the US brand finally made its step into the gaming segment with its latest release: ‘Stadia.’ In terms of meaning, the word is the plural form of the word ”stadium.” According to Google, this new platform is a cloud-based infrastructure for all game developers. They would be able to write and design games to run directly on Google’s hardware at data centers.

On the other hand, the new platform is going to be the gate for cloud-based gaming. To make it easier to understand, you can technically “streams” the game to a controller and display that has access to the platform. Can you think about the potential devices? So far, the list includes TVs, Laptops, smartphones, and even tables. Based on the introduction, Google’s goal for Stadia is to make games available in 4K resolution and run at 60 frames per second with full surround audio.

Furthermore, Google stated that this new platform is going to free all players of any hardware limitations of PCs and game consoles. Since the games will run on Google’s global network of data centers, the infinite computing power that the company has at its disposal. Additionally, they also revealed the plan to launch a brand new game controller to use with its service, dubbed Stadia controller. From the images we have seen, the gadget seems quite decent. It has a dedicated screenshot button, a Google Assistant shortcut, and a built-in microphone. Besides, there is also two joysticks, four action buttons, a full-size directional pad, and two shoulder buttons on either side.
